Sara A. Spicuzza, age 48 of Eastlake, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 20, 2018 at LakeWest Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Sara was born in Cambodia and adopted into the Spicuzza family at the age of 5. She graduated from Eastlake North High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Wright State University. She courageously battled Muscular Dystrophy throughout her life, yet did not let the disease define her.

Sara was incredibly loving and giving to everyone she met.

Sara is the loving mother of Matthew; daughter William and Gwen Spicuzza and late Johanna Spicuzza; sister of Bill (Helen), Patrick (Michelle), Diego (Sarah), Terry (Christina), Laurie (Tim) Clovesko, Chris (Janice), Matt (Jennifer), Amy (Jonathon Gibby – Fiance), Danny and the late Lynda; close friend to Rosie Hargrave and Teresa Craighead; aunt, niece and friend to many.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at McMahon Coyne Vitantonio, 6330 Center Street, Mentor. Burial at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.

Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35781 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake.

Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and health care professionals who have cared for and showed kindness to Sara and Matthew throughout these past years.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital or your favorite charity.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Services.

    I am sorry for your loss. And I want to take the time to thank you for bringing me over to the United States those many years ago. I often tell anyone who will listen about the two living saints who made my life possible, you and JoAnn. I will keep a vigil prayer for you and your family.
