Richard J. Kuzmiak, Sr., age 81 of Painesville Twp. passed away March 30, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born July 25, 1939 in Cleveland, son of the late Alex and Margaret Hutton Kuzmiak.

Rich retired in 1999 from Continental Lithograph in Cleveland and was a member of Graphic Communications International Union, Local 546. He had a contagious laugh, a generous spirit, and opened his heart to many homeless animals over the years.

He is survived by his son Richard (Erin) Kuzmiak, daughter Stacie (Andy) Kuzmiak Hirko, grandson, Nick Kuzmiak, previous wife and friend, Geri Kuzmiak, and brother Paul Batich.

He is preceded in death by his siblings Alex Kuzmiak, Ellen Kuzmiak, Margaret Robertson, Frederick Batich, Michael Batich, and Lewis Batich. He is joining his longtime companion, Marilyn Kennedy who died in 1999.

Private services will be held. His final resting place will be at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield.

Donations in Richard’s memory may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Services.

  1. To all of Rich’s family. I offer my sincere sympathy. I enjoyed getting to know Rich through Stacie and Andy. He sure enjoyed life and had a deep love for his family which was so touching. May you hold your memories close to your heart and cherish the good times shared with this gentle man you lovingly called Dad ❤️

    They ( Mom & Rich ) really had a lot of fun together. So many beautiful road trips and so many memories shared. I often think of them and how happy they were .
