Raymond E. Milavec, age 67, passed away peacefully October 11, 2016 at Altercare of Mentor. He was born November 22, 1948.

Ray was a resident of Mentor and formerly of Willowick. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School & Cleveland State. He had a 40-year career in Wickliffe City Schools as an English teacher, administrator and coach. He was inducted into the City of Wickliffe Hall of Fame, Captains Hall of Fame and ASA Hall of Fame. For more than 25 years, he served as an announcer for OHSAA sectional and district tournaments in several sports. He was the voice of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Lake County Captains. He was a member of AA and his home group was Absolute Surrender in Willoughby.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Milavec; father, Ray F. Milavec; sister, Robin (Greg) Stanish; nephew, Ryan Stanish; niece, Julie Stanish; dear friend, Christina Podolski.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose (nee Kadonick) Milavec.

VISITATION 9-10:30 AM MONDAY at JEFF MONREAL FUNERAL HOME, 6330 CENTER STREET, MENTOR.

Memorial Mass at 11 AM Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8540 Mentor Ave., Mentor.

A private burial will be held at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.

    I will never be able to express my love and gratitude to have had such an AMAZING, CARING, COMPASSIONATE and most importantly my VERY BEST FRIEND in life. My love and prayers go out to Ray’s family in this difficult time. Ray will forever be in my heart and will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life!!!

  2. I taught with Ray many years at Wickliffe. I would like to express my deepest sympathies to the entire family.
