Linda L. Mekus (nee Chambers), age 64 of Fairport Harbor passed away on March 13, 2018 at Tripoint Medical Center. She was born June 19, 1953 in Cleveland to the late William Chambers and Barbara (Roy) Polson.

Linda was an RN at Lake Hospital Systems for the past 24 years. She loved the Eastside Irish American Club where she embraced her Irish Heritage. She loved her family, friends, her dogs and especially her grandchildren.

Linda is the loving wife of the late Ronald James Mekus; dearest mother of John A. Sandy Jr. and Veronica F.D. Mekus; beloved grandmother of Taylor and Alyssa Hillier, Ava and Giovanni Sandy, Brooklyn Mekus and Camille Harris; sister of Diane Miller and Jill Chambers; aunt of Erika Miller and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held from 12 Noon – 4 PM Saturday, March 17, 2018 at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby (located on the grounds of Jeff Monreal Funeral Home). A Memorial Service will follow at 4PM at The Abbey.

Private burial at Mentor Cemetery at a later date.

    Linda was a breath of fresh air to anywhere she floated as an RN. She always smiled and gave her patients and co-workers her best. She will be remembered as beautiful both inside and out. We will miss her. God Bless
