John Kro Sr., age 97 of Euclid, passed away December 24, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born February 29, 1924 in Cleveland to the late Nicholas and Mary Rapljenovic.

John was a retired Euclid Police Officer, U.S. WWII Marine Corps Veteran, member of the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

John is the loving husband of the late Marcia Kro; beloved father of John (Dawn) Kro Jr., Nick (Leslie Leube – fiancée) Kro, Dan Kro and Candice (Michael) D’Amico; dearest grandfather of Alishia Pulver; brother of the late Nicholas Rapljenovic Jr. and Ann Rapljenovic; uncle of many.

The Kro family will receive friends from 1:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday, January 2, 2021 at The Abbey, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby (located on the grounds of McMahon Coyne Vitantonio Funeral Home). A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 PM at The Abbey.

Donations can be made in John’s name to the Lake County Veterans Services, 105 Main St., Painesville or to Hospice of The Western Reserve, 300 East 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal of Jeff Monreal Funeral Home.
