Ivan Oroz, age 72 of Cleveland, passed away April 11, 2020 at Alter Care of Mentor. He was born March 25, 1948 in Kiseljak, Bosna I Hercegovina to the late Mato and Anda Oroz.
Ivan retired in 2015 as a tool and die maker from Modern Industries after 40 years of service.
He loved playing cards with his friends and spending time with his family.
Ivan is the loving husband for 50 years to Jelka Oroz (nee Korčanin); dearest father of Dario Oroz, Tomislav Oroz and Ana Oroz; beloved grandfather of Sage Katusin and Ryan Oroz; brother of Lucija (Mirko – deceased) Marković, Bosiljko Oroz and the late Petar Oroz, Anka (Ivo) Jukić and Dobroslav Oroz; son in law of the late Pero and Anka Korčanin; brother in law of Mira Oroz, Elda Oroz, Kata Korčanin, Marko (Maria) Korčanin, Dragana (Jure – deceased), Ljuba (Izet) Hubanić, Ruza (Ija) Buzuk, Kata Korčanin and the late Ivo Korčanin; uncle and friend of many.
A memorial mass will be held at 6:00 PM Saturday, June 27th, 2020 at St. Paul Croatian Church, 1369 East 40th Street, Cleveland where Father Zvonko will be the officiant.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Services.

Od mnogih stvari koje smo prozivjeli, u sjecanju ce mi uvijek ostati 1985 godina kada ste tetka, ti, Tommy i Dario dosli u Sarajevo kod nas. Nase setnje po olimpijskom Igmanu i Trebevicu, vozanje zicarom, prilika da pricam engleski sa svojim rodjacima, i da se smijem zajebancijama i vicevima bili su i ostali nezaboravni dio mog djetinjstva. Smijali smo se Dariu i Tommy-ju kako ne mogu da pricaju nas jezik razgovjetno i kako mjesaju nas jezik i engleski. Taj vas dolazak je imao jako puno pozitivnog uticaja na moj zivot. Tada smo se prvi put upoznali sa Checkers igrom, sa GI-Joe figuricama i ibretili se Dariu kako je faciniran grupom KISS!.
Za vrijeme rata u Bosni, tetka i ti ste nam pomagali i slali pakete i to vam nikad necemo zaboraviti. Kasnije kad sam ja prvi put dosao u Ameriku i dosao u posjetu kod vas u Cleveland, ugostio si me kao da sam tvoje djete i cak napravio poparu za dorucak! Volio si shalu, viceve i zajebanciju kao pravi Bosanac bez obzira koliko dugo si zivio u Americi, i mi smo tebe voljeli zbog toga.
Hvala ti za sve sto si uradio za mene i nasu porodicu Hubanic i hvala ti za sve sale, viceve, i razgovore koje smo vodili svaki put kad se vidimo. Puno sam naucio od tebe.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of our great friend Ivan. My father Milan Melinz and i were friends with Ivan and Pero for many years and he will be greatly missed by our family and the Croatian community in Cleveland, Ohio. Goodbye our dear friend until we meet again. Pocivaj u miru.
