Christopher Roth Griffin Jr., age 24 of Willoughby Hills, passed away suddenly on February 22nd, 2022 at home due to his severe asthma he has been battling since his childhood. He grew up in Willoughby and graduated from South High School.

“Chris had a hectic childhood; mostly because he loved to make things hectic. The middle child, he was always sparking mischief. A true night owl, he would stay up for late nights with his brother and sister, and then with his friends as he grew older. The night came alive when Chris awoke.

He came out at night because Chris was a light. When he would walk into a room, his purpose was to make everyone laugh. When you saw him during the day, he loved great food, music, jokes, sports (especially basketball), collecting memorabilia, and just to talk, and talk, and talk… Chris’s opinion was always voiced. And he would talk to you for hours about his philosophies, your life choices, and the universe.

Most importantly, Chris is loved and gave nothing but love. He always made sure the last thing you heard from him when leaving or hanging up was “I love you”. I’m sure “I love you” were still his last words. He is gone too soon, but his memory and love will never fade. “

Chris was the loving son of Eva Marie Freeman and Christopher (Jennifer) Roth Griffin Sr.; beloved brother of Amber Freeman, Ashley Marie Freeman, Chaz Seth Griffin and Chyra Griffin; dearest uncle of Evette Wilder, Eliana Bowden and Chaz Griffin Jr.; grandson of the late James and Faye Freeman, and Deborah and Henry Roth Griffin; nephew to the late Brian Morris, James Ciulla, Cynthia Blake, Rodrick Blake and Kathy Nesbitt; cousin of the late Holly Green; cherished nephew and cousin to many.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, February 28th, 2022 at The Abbey, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 PM at The Abbey on Monday. Burial at Willoughby Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.

  10. He wasnt just a friend. He was a brother. A person that was 10 toes in the dirt for whoever was close to him. The most loyal friend you could possibly know. Never a dull moment with chris. He was filled with much love for everyone. He would always end the call with “be safe, much love.” Because he cared for you and only wanted to see everyone happy. He talked the talk while walking the walk. He stood by his words and stood there even stronger by his family and friends. He would never let anyone down themselves. He was truly one of the brightest lights in this dark world. Not a day will go by that i wont miss you bro. Fly high Chris. The most love to you bro. I gonna miss my brother so much… RIP
