Charles E. Kotnik, age 80 of Mentor, formerly of Eastlake, passed away June 5th, 2022 at LakeWest Medical Center. He was born January 27th, 1942 in Cleveland to the late Emil and Tillie Kotnik.

Chuck retired from Roll-Kraft in Mentor. He enjoyed playing pool with friends. Woodworking was his passion and you could often find him in his workshop. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Chuck was a 2nd Lieutenant U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post #678, and The Slovenian Home in Euclid.

Chuck was the loving husband for 56 years to Barb Kotnik (nee Regula); loving father of Steve, Greg (Wendy), and Karen; grandfather of Ethan, Liam, Ryan, Brady, and Lucas; brother of Helen (Thomas – deceased) Teree, Lynn (Tom) Vargo, the late Ruth Wallace, and the late Emil Kotnik; uncle and great uncle of many.

The Kotnik family will receive friends from 4:00–7:00 PM Friday, June 10th, 2022 at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at All Souls Cemetery at a later date.

Donations can be made in Chuck’s name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th Street, Cleveland OH 44119.
