Arbia William “Bill” Bitner Jr., age 74 of Mentor passed away December 23rd, 2021 at West Medical Center in Willoughby. He was born July 31st, 1947 in Cleveland to Rose Marie Nolan (nee Udovic) and the late Arbia William Bitner Sr.
Bill worked at TRW, Caterpillar, Van Dorn and PMC Colinet. He enjoyed baseball, seeing his family, toy trains, cars, good food, his animals, model cars, living on the water and a good joke.
Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Bill is the loving father of Christopher (Deanna) Bitner and Gregory (Melissa – fiancee) Bitner; beloved grandfather of Kyle (Roxanne), Megan, Alison and Nicholas Bitner; great grandfather of Kristian Bitner; brother of Karen Hurley, John “Jay” (Ann) Bitner, David (Jennifer) Bitner, Brian (Kim) Bitner, Diane (Les) Jones, Randy Bitner and the late James Bitner; uncle to many.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:15 AM Friday, May 27th at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, OH 44273. You must arrive at the cemetery before 10 AM to line up.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal of Jeff Monreal Funeral Home.

R.I.P. Chris, Greg, and the rest of the family. Sorry for your loss. I remember when we lived on Renwood your dad had the Green Buick Skylark he was working on. You will always have the memories, and that is something very special.
His death brings sorrow to me. I’m sorry for the loss in you’re family. It also brings back small glimpses of him and you’re entire family as teens and kids. I wanted to be one of you as a child, and never leave. I love you all.

There were times that Billy didn’t want to be around other people, but when he was he was joking around! His laugh was contagious! He loved sharing the jokes he had heard recently, plus plenty of old ones!
I had nicknames for him like Buckwheat and Billy Bob.
He loved good food and didn’t refuse too much in that category.
When my husband, Jim was living , Bill would come to visit with him. Not sure what they talked about but they spent that special time together. Recent years he would call and be on the phone for at least an hour, reminiscing about the old days on Windward Road, mentioning old girlfriends and Beachland Park. One of his girlfriends
Was Denise (Wilker). They didn’t date long and next thing I know, my brother Jim was dating her.
He loved hanging around with Uncle Frank and Aunt Audrey Laughlin and his cousins, Mike,
Petey, Peggy and Johnny!
was a penny pincher but would give you the shirt off of his back if he thought it was a necessary cause!
I am glad that I took that time with him !
