Annmarie (nee Knotek) Soltesz, age 78, of Euclid, passed away April 28th, 2021. She was born on September 22, 1942 to the late William G. and Theresa A. (nee Haley) Knotek in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she grew up prior to moving to Mentor, Ohio. She attended Villa Maria Academy from kindergarten through high school and graduated from Villa Maria College in 1964 where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree. She went on to earn her Master of Education degree from Edinboro University. Annmarie retired from Mentor Public Schools in 1997 after 30 years of teaching first grade and later specializing in Title 1 reading. Teaching children to read was her great joy. In addition to her teaching career, Annmarie enjoyed home decorating and collecting, knitting, reading, watching classic Hollywood films, boating on Lake Erie with her husband Frank and joining in many fun outings with friends.

Annmarie is survived by her husband Frank C. Soltesz; her children Cathleen (Chris) Finnecy, Caryn (Daniel) Lynn, Craig Chantrey; stepdaughter Christina (Dave) Peterson; 8 grandchildren Ian, Colin, Charlotte, Chelsea, Isabelle, Cole, Clare, and Luke; great grandchild, Landen and beloved cousin Marilyn Sementilli. She is preceded in death by her parents and stepson Frank A. Soltesz.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM Friday, June 11th, 2021 at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby (located on the grounds of McMahon Coyne Vitantonio Funeral Home) . A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM Friday at The Abbey of Willoughby. A Private Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brookpark, Ohio at a later date.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Kemper House Highland Heights and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their care of Annmarie.

    You and Annmarie are in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that many of former fellow teachers send their sympathies to you. Unfortunately, I will unable to attend the memorial as I must accompany my wife to the Clinic that day. May God be with you.
