Ronald T. Scott, age 78 of Mentor, passed away November 23rd, 2022 at Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon surrounded by his family. He was born May 6th, 1944 in Detroit, MI to the late Alonzo “Fate” and Marjorie Scott.

Ron worked for various food distributors, including Sysco and Ohio Farmers.

Ron was an avid Indians, Browns and OSU fan. He enjoyed softball in his younger years and coached his daughters. He was a member of MHRC and enjoyed boating. Ron loved spending time with his family, watching his grandsons play sports. He was a huge fan of Riverside Football, Hawks and Crushers Baseball.

Ron is the loving father of Shelley (Ossie) Osborne and Teri (Bob) Simpson; beloved grandfather of JT Osborne, Mandy (Aaron Woodman) Osborne, Megan (Joe) Staff, Danielle Osborne, Mack Simpson and Cameron Simpson; great grandfather of Trask, Joey and Parker; cherished brother of Peggy Ryan, Beverly (Phil-deceased) Smith, Sandy (George) Namestnik, Becky (Jay) Johansen; uncle of many and the late Tammy Sheppard; former husband of the late Maggie Hadden; best friend and movie companion Jackie Coughlin; and his dog “Blizzard”.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – Noon Wednesday, November 30th at Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. A Funeral Service will be held at Noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial at Mentor Cemetery.
