John A. Carozza, age 85, of Mayfield Hts., passed away May 3, 2016.

Loving father of Dr. Kenneth (Gay) and Thomas (Maria Theresa); beloved grandfather of Seth Carozza and Shiloh Carozza; brother of Chris (Marian) Carozza (both deceased), beloved twin sister Vonnie (Joseph-deceased) Tripodo, Mary (Tony-deceased) Leta and Vincent (Irene-deceased) Carozza; uncle of many.

John was a U.S Army Veteran in the 82nd Airborne, 6th Ranger Infantry Company and a retired bricklayer. Member of the VFW Post 5799. He will be remembered for his charity, compassion and wit, and his many mission trips around the world, where he made lifelong friends.

Memorial Mass 10AM, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd., Gates Mills. Family will receive friends from 9-10AM at the church.

Interment at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Hts.

Donations can be made to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, 1404 E. Ninth St., 3rd Fl., Cleveland, OH 44114.

Arrangement entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.

    I have very fond memories of Uncle John twirling us when we were little kids, always have a “5 Spot” for Birthday presents and for spending quality time with me. We talked about Travel and world places we wanted to visit. He always had story jokes and everyone’s attention. He will be missed but always loved.
