SERVICE FOR

Ida May Turton

04/21/1928 — 11/10/2020

Ida M. Turton age 92, was born in Connersville, Indiana to Elise (Heeb) Parrish and Royce Parrish on April 21, 1928. She peacefully passed into eternal life on November 10, 2020 in Chardon, Ohio with family by her side.

Michigan was her home. She was a people person, always on the go, loved her poodles, and could make anything. She was quite the crafter, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She was spunky with a touch of stubborn and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was married three times. First to Cecil Mathis, then to William Pillow, and her forever love was Ernest Turton. She would say, “I had eeny, meeny, miny, and I want no moe.”

Ida was a loving wife to the late Ernest Turton; mother of Robert Parrish; mother-in-law of the late Phyllis (Rozanski) Parrish: grandmother of Deborah (Timothy) Bates, Jenine (Joshua) Witzke, Nadine (Eugene) Smith; great grandmother of Timothy Bates Jr, Tyler Bates, Alex Bates, Chloe Witzke, Austin Witzke, Jameson Witzke, Eugene Smith II, Raelyn Smith, and Colton Smith; sister to Joy, Lois, Ione, Vera, and Jean; aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. She has many cousins and loved her family. Tears of happiness and joy were always shed when she was with family.

She will be remembered as the rat that stole cake before dinner, the connoisseur of mac and cheese, late night dealer of Pop Tarts, the designer of homemade dolls, dog toys and blankets, the gagster (foul-mouthed at times), and most of all she will be remembered for the abundance of hugs and kisses she gave.

Her ashes will be laid to rest at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan. Private services will be held at the cemetery on Thursday, November 19th, 2020.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeff Monreal Funeral & Cremation Services.
